The girl on the beach naked, save the head of a unicorn, represents the exploited player in the theater (of life) and the publication of the book/play referenced by the theater door. The book on the floor, “The Black Cat,” by Edgar Allan Poe, is a horrific story of ultimate REVENGE, and an inference that with the song, comes revenge. The girl in the alley way with the black cat, walking away represents a woman who has had an incredible, career, life, and family, Sheryl Crow. The song reflects a perpetual remembrance of Three Days in Rome. The woman in front of the window is Cybele, the mother goddess of Rome and Queen of Revenge. In the Phrygian cult eunuch priests performed mysterious rites in her honor. Her lover was Attis. She caused him to castrate and kill himself.
