From the CD “JEWEL” www.dechen-shak.com Facebook fan page: www.facebook.com This mantra is dedicated to Tara, the great swift liberator. Tara is a female Buddha and out of deep compassion she manifests as the Goddess Tara to protect and liberate beings from their fears and dangers and to bestow them with happiness. According to the legend Tara was a beautiful princess who had accomplished all the spiritual levels on her path. Her master was very proud of her and told her that all she had to do was to wish for a rebirth as a male in order to reach enlightenment in her next life. But Tara vowed to always return in a female form to free all beings from Samsara in order to reach enlightenment in a female form.

Dakini is thus a personnification of wisdom, leading to the understanding of nature and oneself. There were 13 of us. We came from different professions, age groups and backgrounds. But we opened our heart to each other sharing our life experiences, aspirations, dreams and fears. We learned to integrate nature, sacredness and childhood with our life and appreciate the hidden radiant mind inside. krisadawan.wordpress.com

In the Buddhist tradition, Tara is the goddess of healing and compassion Goddess Tara, a female Buddha and meditational deity, is arguably the most popular goddess in the Buddhist pantheon. She is considered to be the goddess of universal compassion who represents virtuous and enlightened activity. The word Tara itself is derived from the root ‘tri’ (to cross), hence the implied meaning:’ the one who enables living beings to cross the Ocean of Existence and Suffering’. Her compassion for living beings, her desire to save them from suffering, is said to be even stronger than a mother’s love for her children. The story of Tara’s origin, according to the Tara Tantra, recounts that eons ago she was born as a king’s daughter. A spiritual and compassionate princess, she regularly gave offerings and prayers to the ordained monks and nuns. She thus developed great merit, and the monks told her that, because of her spiritual attainments, they would pray that she be reborn as a man and spread Buddhist teachings. She responded that there was no male and no female, that nothing existed in reality, and that she wished to remain in female form to serve other beings until everyone reached enlightenment, hence implying the shortfall in the monk’s knowledge in presuming only male preachers for the Buddhist religion ~ web

A brilliant new track by neglected maverick genius Rev Spook with a disturbing video set in green symbolically representing Tara, the tantric female Buddha. This piece comes at a time of disenchantment and despair for Spook, and is disturbing to experience. Reminiscent of Coil at their best.
